In touch with Mlungisi Mbunjana

The industrious Mlungisi Mbunjana is having one of his best seasons in the DSTV Premiership.
The ever-hard-working midfield dynamo has dazzled this season for TS Galaxy in the middle of the park.
His nonsense approach and his ability to break the opposition’s attack with ease has made him a standout performer.
He took time and spoke with TS Galaxy website.
TS Galaxy (TSG): What has worked for us recently Mlu?
Mlungisi Mbunjana (MM): We’ve defended well. We are no longer giving away goals since coach, Owen Da Gama took charge of the team. We have a good attack that can score anytime and we are solid at the back. For me, it is the combination of those two.
TSG: Our next assignment is Chippa United. What can we expect?
MM: Every game in the league is taugh. Chippa United is no different. We haven’t changed anything in our preparations. The coach is working on a few things that we’ve been lacking. Last week, we didn’t play. That gave the coach enough time to work in our witnesses and improve our strength. We didn’t have enough time to work on those because we had back to back games.
TSG: How important was it to beat Maritzburg United and Black Leopards?
MM: Winning against Maritzburg and Leopards made a very huge difference in terms of moving slightly away from where we were (at the bottom). We are moving towards midtable now. We want to try and get maximum points against any opposition so that we can climb up the table.
TSG: What has these two victories done for us?
MM: Winning games automatically boosts confidence. When you do good, you certainly going to feel good. Our confidence has grown. I don’t think much has changed. We’ve turned that corner.
TSG: How are you dealing with your penalty miss against TS Sporting?
MM: It is sad to miss a penalty. It kind off drops the confidence and it did to me. It made me to drop my head. I didn’t feel so good about it. I had a talk with the coach and told me that anyone can miss a penalty. He stated that we have to look at the bigger picture. If we do well in the league and maintain our status, we still have an opportunity of playing in the Nedbank Cup next season. I was disappointed a lot that the team didn’t advance to the next round.
TSG: We know coach Dan Malesela very well.
MM: When you play against coach Dan you have to be at your best. He is a type of the coach that loves to keep the ball. He wants to be in possession all the times. We should be at our best defensively. It is going to be an interesting battle.
