Hotseat with coach Zipho Dlangalala

After the lads fought gallantly to earn a point yesterday against Baroka FC at the iconic, Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, we sat down with coach, Zipho Dlangalala to discuss the encounter. The game ended 2-2. Shaune Mogaila and Mxolisi Macuphu netted the two strikes for the Rockets as we came from two goals down to earn a stalemate.

TS Galaxy (TSG): Coach, your re-action after today’s (Tuesday) results.
Zipho Dlangalala (ZD): We always want to win matches when we play especially if you look at the way we played (today). We are competitors and we will take this point. At least, it wasn’t a loss. With all respect to the opponents, I feel we should have wrapped this game up. The team showed the control from the beginning. We had chances when we were 1-0 down, even at 2-2. One will take this point and build on it. The next game should be better.

TSG: We’ve scored four goals in the past two matches but we are also conceding.
ZD: It is very encouraging that we scored two goals in two games running but we need to tighten up at the back. Unfortunately at this pointing time, the goals that we are conceding do not come from organizational situations. We’ve made individuals mistakes and conceded but we will help and encourage the players to do better and avoid those mistakes. I think, it is possible and we are positive. They should come right. It is just a matter of time. Hopefully, it will come sooner than later so that we can start scoring goals and keep clean sheets at the back.

TSG: What positives can we take heading in to the next match against SuperSport United?
ZD: There are a lot of positives that one can take. I can say that without any doubts. The whole structure, application of individual players and collective application is good. With that said, I feel we can improve on certain areas. There are few things that we want to do better all the time. We have few days to prepare. This is the league and this is the Covid-19 season. If there’s no time, we can’t complain. It is the same for all of us. We have two days and we will around that. I have no doubt that in the next game, we will be better.

TSG: Ethan Brooks got his full match debut. Your take on his performance today.
ZD: He acquitted himself very well. It is the way of the game. The TS Galaxy brand has to make the difference. We can be here as TS Galaxy and do what everyone is doing. We can’t be doing what has always be done. There are basic things that all clubs should do. But to survive in this league, you have to meet certain requirements. On top of those requirements, we would love to do certain things in a special way. We excited that we continued with Macbeth Mahlangu, the center back who is at the same age as Ethan. It is exciting for us as a club to be able to give these young players a chance. They are doing very well and we are encouraged by that.

TSG: Thanks coach.
ZD: You are welcome.
