TS Galaxy maintained their unbeaten run last night as they shared the spoils with Swallows Football Club at Dobsonville Stadium in a highly contested fixture.
The game ended 0-0. It was played at the frenetic pace. Both sides created good goal scoring opportunities.
Winsten Van Der Linde continued with his fine form between the sticks for the Rockets.
He denied Ruzaigh Gameldien in the 7th minutes. Lebohang Mokoena played a telling pass between the lines and Gameldien was the quickest in to the ball but was denied by the lanky net-minder.
Van Der Linde has now kept three clean sheets on the trots.
The best chance in the first half fell in to the path of Nation Ndlovu. Wayde Lekay set him up but couldn’t find the target. He fluffed his line after going one against one with Virgil Vries. It was a glorious opportunity for the Rockets to go in to the lead.
Before the interval, Gameldien almost broke the deadlock for Swallows but was denied by the woodwork.
The Rockets threatened on transition. It was a good move initiated by Ebrahim Seedat, decorated by Karabo Tshepe but Lekay was kept at bay by Tlakusani Mthethwa who made a goal line clearance.
Galaxy are now sixth on the log with six points after four games. They are two points behind the log leaders, Swallows who are at the summit of the table.
Galaxy have registered three stalemates (against Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila, Kaizer Chiefs and Swallows).
Our maiden victory came at the expense of AmaZulu at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Our next assignment is now against Lamontville Golden Arrows on Saturday at Mbombela Stadium at 3.30pm.
