Wensten Van Der Linde is currently on top of his game. He has amassed two successive clean sheets in the past two games against Kaizer Chiefs and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
All eyes will be on Van Der Linde to continue with his rich vien of form between the posts tonight against Swallows.
TS Galaxy (TSG) website sat down with Wensten Van Der Linde (WVDL) ahead of tonight’s encounter.
TSG: What can we expect tonight against Swallows?
WVDL: It is going to be the same game that we played against AmaZulu. It will depend how much we want it. I think, we are good to go for it.
TSG: You’ve been a pillar of strength for us at the back. What has been your secret to your accomplishments?
WVDL: Credit must be given to the players that plays infront of me. When they talk about clean sheets, they must talk about the whole defence going forward.
TSG: How did the Fifa break affect you guys?
WVLD: I don’t think, it will affect us. The training that we conducted before this game against Swallows and before the other games, it wasn’t almost the same but we work on a number of things. We are going there to get maximum points. We don’t know what they have in store for us but we will play our way of football.
TSG: How is life in top flight football compared to GladAfrica Championship?
WVLD: It will be nice for us to get three points against Swallows. I know that it is not going to be easy. We will see what happens. For me, it is more professional in the DSTV Premiership but apart from that there isn’t much of a difference. I’m not saying GladAfrica is not professional but there is a change. For me, it is normal. I know that I have to fight for my place in the team because there is no first choice or second choice. If you get an opportunity to play, you must make sure that you keep the jersey.
TSG: What are your goals and objectives?
WVLD: I want to see us winning something. I want to see us fighting for something. That is my biggest goal. I don’t want to see us below number eight on the log.
TSG: Your message to our supporters?
WVLD: They must just keep on supporting us. I know they are with us in spirit. Once they are allowed to come back, we will be even more stronger. We have to keep on working hard.
