Face to Face with TS Galaxy President Tim Sukazi

TS Galaxy strolled to victory in their first game at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit in the DSTV Premiership clash last night against AmaZulu.

Wayde Lekay netted on debut for the Rockets as Galaxy marched on to victory. The club has now registered four points after two games in top flight football.

After the game, TS Galaxy website conducted an interview with the club’s President, Tim Sukazi who was overwhelmed with jubilation.

TS Galaxy (TSG): How elated are you that we are now off the mark in the elite league?

Tim Sukazi (TS): As the citizen of this province, I’m very proud. I’m saying here is a young team. It is a young soldiers that we’ve put together. They are here to represent the province. They are the pride of the province. They have done something impossible. To secure your first win in this league, it is not easy. I’m elated that we managed to do it in such a very short space of time. I can simple say the monkey is now off our back. This team can only grow. We are still in our building phases. We won’t become complacent. One swallow doesn’t bring the rain. None the less, I’m happy for the people of the province who support this team. They have supported this team and they believe in it. It is a pity that they couldn’t come and see this for themselves.

TSG: We have a plenty of positives to take in to our next game against Kaizer Chiefs next Wednesday.
TM: Yes, it is a goal. It is a clean sheet. All these things counts in a league where clubs are not so different. These things do count. It’s takes us to the blockbuster which is Kaizer Chiefs. I’ve said it before, there’s now a new rivalry between TS Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs. Next week Wednesday, it is that rivalry. People will see for themselves because we know what happened at Moses Mabhida Stadium. We know exactly. Chiefs fans are constantly reminded about the Moses Mabhida disaster. Next week Wednesday, we shall meet again. The scoreline was 1-0 in favour of us against Kaizer Chiefs. Yesterday (Tuesday), Chiefs won 1-0 (against Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium) and today (Wednesday) we won 1-0. It has set the seen for the blockbuster encounter next week Wednesday.

TSG: Can you just emphasize the importance of stretching our winning run.
TS: It is an unbeaten run but however we have just played two games. We must always remember that. We have to take each game as it comes to be honest. If we land at game so and so with that unbeaten run, so be it. We know that, it is not an easy league. It is a very tricky league. We should take it game by game, I suppose. That’s how the technical team prefers to take things. One swallow doesn’t bring rain. We have to play 30 games in this league and see how it goes.

TSG: It doesn’t get better than this for the people of Mpumalanga. Isn’t?
TS: I’m very proud for the people of the province. Mpumalanga never had their professional club of their own in the PSL. Today, it was a historic day. It was a first Premiership game at home in Mpumalanga by TS Galaxy in the longest time. People of this province love the club. They support it. I’ve said it, it is a pity that they couldn’t come and see it for themselves. Now, that the club has rewarded their support with a win, I’m very happy and I’m saying, let us push it. This is the pride of the province. Let us support it. If we do that, rest assures, it will make the province proud.

TSG: We still have a long way to go but what will make you happy come the end of the season?
TS: At the end of the season, if we can meet or exceed our  expectations or our own standards, I’ll be happy. We are a club that did the impossible while we were in GladAfrica Championship. Surely this is the highest pole of them all. If doing that brings some silverwares, I’ll accept it gladly. Let us gather behind this club. Let us support it. It is our pride.

TSG: You’ve been very transparent about the dealings at the club. That is a breath of fresh air in top flight football. Why that approach?

TS: At TS Galaxy, we really believe in giving our own people, the first hand information. If we don’t, we can end up misleading people. We shall thrive at sharing information with our people. We are not shy to be answerable to our people at any issue of concern. It helps the brand. It helps the club. It’s instill belief amongst the masses that supports TS Galaxy.
