Terrence Mashego recently departed TS Galaxy Football Club for Cape Town City.
The talented left back has been imperial for the Rockets over the past two years. He was the intergral part of the team that inspired Galaxy in to greatness in the Nedbank Cup last year.
Club’s president, Tim Sukazi explained why the club decided to let go of Mashego who was a vital cog for the club.
“We gave Mashego our blessing. It was a situation where both parties became very happy. We wanted an experienced player at left back like Seedat (Ebrahim). Cape Town City wanted someone who has potential like Mashego. They have Dove as a left back. He is a seasoned professional. They wanted his under study. They have two seasoned campaigners in the same position. What would have suited them is to have an under study for (Edmilson) Dove. Therefore, Mashego becomes that,” Sukazi elaborated.
Mashego scooped the Most Promising Player gong last year in the Nedbank Cup because of his sparkling performances.
“To us, we wanted someone to hit the ground running in that position. It became a deal made in heaven. It is first time we did a deal with John Comitis without even talking.” Sukazi detailed.
