Nthethe reflects on Steenberg stalemate

13 August 2020 – TS Galaxy FC defender, Thabo Nthethe says the team’s performance against Steenberg United yesterday was good besides the 0-0 stalemate.

Nthethe, who is one of the country’s most experienced players that were brought in to bolster the side was speaking to the club’s website from the team’s base camp in the PSL’s Bio Safe Environment under the league’s healthy and safety guidelines.

“It was really great to get back to playing competitive football after four months. As a team, we have been working very hard under the lockdown regulations with the coach and I think this really showed in the game because we managed to finish the game without any of our players complaining about cramps” said Nthethe.

Speaking on the sharing of the spoils in yesterday’s clash against United, “Mr Cool” as he is affectionately known said the team’s performance was good and they were just unfortunate not to get the result.

“We really tried to win the game yesterday, but it unfortunately ended 0-0. The good thing is that we played well as a team and did not concede which is something that we can take as a positive ahead of our next match. We are really looking forward to our next game against Richards Bay as well as getting a win because winning motivates us to continue working hard while we are here in the camp”.

The Rockets face the wounded Richards Bay on Sunday, who suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of GladAfrica Championship log leaders, Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday afternoon.

Kick-off will be at 15h00 at the Johannesburg Stadium and will be an “away” clash for the Rockets.
