Khenyeza urges his charges to finish strong

12 August 2020 – TS Galaxy FC head coach, Mabhuti Khenyeza has encouraged his charges to give it their all in the closing fixtures of the GladAfrica Championship season following the four-month break.

The Rockets, who currently sit 11th on the table are looking at finishing in a respectable position on the table as they resume the season with a tough task against Steenberg United this afternoon at Wits Rugby Stadium where they will play all their home matches in the Bio Safe Environment as per Government and PSL health and safety guidelines.

Speaking to the club website just before going into the bubble, the Rockets mentor said the club would go all out in ensuring that they get positive results, starting from this afternoon against the Cape side.

“What we have experienced has never happened across the world. It is difficult both mentally and physically but at the end of the day, we have to play and compete. The team has been hard at work under the new training regulations that have been set in place and we are definitely going out there to compete” said Khenyeza.

Asked on how he has been able to get the players into the right state of mind ahead of the resumption, the Rockets coach said it has to start with him as the leader of the team.

“I need to be strong first and continue to encourage them which will then rub off to the entire squad. If I show any sign of weakness, then it will be a problem, but the players need to see a leader in me, and I need to do exactly that which will help them get into the right state of mind”

Kick-off at the Wits Rugby Stadium will be at 15h30.
