9 July 2020 – TS Galaxy FC midfielder, Tshegofatso Nyama is itching to get back to the field but says it will be quite different playing without the singing and cheering of the TS Galaxy faithful.
The Rockets were scheduled to play their next match at Kameelrivier Stadium, a venue that many teams dread visiting, but the clash was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic which resulted in the suspension of all football activities.
Speaking to the club’s website, Nyama said he and his teammates have been hard at work at home during the lockdown and are looking forward to hitting the ground running as football activities make a return.
“During the lockdown, I have been waking up every day to train alone and occasionally run just to keep fit. It is exciting that football is coming back but it just won’t feel the same due to the fans not being able to attend the games” said the hardworking midfielder.
Asked on how challenging it would be to resume the season, Nyama said it would require a lot of hard work from the team.
“Honestly it will be hard but I believe that if we put our minds to it then nothing is impossible. It is also exciting that we will get to see each other again soon and enjoy the team spirit that exists at the Club” said a confident Nyama.
With the rising infections, the Club wishes to urge the football family to be extra careful and continue to practise social distancing at all times.
