24 May 2020 – The global pause of all football activities has not in any way stopped TS Galaxy Football Club from remaining a Club that cares for its supporters and community.
The Rockets ventured into a two-day trip into various villages surrounding KwaNdebele which is home to TS Galaxy FC, to distribute much needed food and supplies relief packages to families that have been affected the most by the national lockdown.
KwaNdebele, where the Club enjoys most of its support, is one of the many areas of South Africa that have been hit the hardest by the national lockdown, with most families already living below the breadline.
Being a Club that has always put its supporters and community first, the Rockets brought smiles to a number of families this past weekend through the distribution of food parcels and supplies.
The food parcels, which included basic necessities such as mealie meal, vegetables, non-perishable foods and hygienic products were distributed by the Club’s players and staff under the leadership of TS Galaxy FC President, Tim Sukazi who was at the forefront of the two-day activity.
Speaking to the Club’s website on Sunday, Sukazi said that TS Galaxy FC prides itself in being a Club that brings a positive change to its supporters and communities.
“There are a lot of destitute families here. There is a lot of hunger as most people here are unemployed. The few that are employed are employed in Pretoria and as a result are so much reliant on commuting on Putco buses to Pretoria on a daily basis, spending a total of about five to six hours on the road” said Sukazi.
“As a result, TS Galaxy FC saw it necessary to come and lay a helping hand. We know that government is doing its best but then of course those of us who are in a position to assist in the same way should indeed do so. We have done it as a Club and we will not stop until together, we can fight and defeat poverty amongst our people” concluded the Club President.
TS Galaxy FC encourages all its supporters and the football family at large to continue to practice social distancing and observe all the laws set by government in this battle against Covid-19.
