It feels good and interesting at the same time – Malesela

5 February 2020 – TS Galaxy head coach, Dan Malesela says going to back to face his former club will be both good and interesting at the same time. The coach was addressing members of the media earlier this week ahead of their crunch encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium against Chippa United this evening.

Malesela who won the hearts of the United fans during his time will be on the opposite dug out this time around with the reigning champions following their triumphant run that saw them lift the title at a packed Moses Mabhida Stadium in May last year.

Asked on his thoughts on the game tonight against his former club, the shrewd tactician said he was looking forward to the clash.

“It feels good and interesting at the same time. I know the place in and out so it will be interesting. People were wishing that we could play Chippa in the final last year but that obviously did not happen” said the Malesela.

“Our approach to this is pride. You cannot be a champion today and tomorrow become something else. The biggest part will be for us to be more determined” concluded the coach.

Speaking on the club’s inconsistent form in the league, Malesela said the situation the club was in was similar to how things were last season when before playing the Nedbank Cup and turning things around.

“This match is one of those that will help us turn things around. Similar to last season, we were playing a lot of draws before the Nedbank Cup so we are hoping this will be our turn around match” he concluded.

Kick-off at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will be at 19h30.
