16 January 2020 – The journey to promotion into the premier division continues for TS Galaxy following a hard-earned point away from home against Mbombela United on Wednesday, 15 January.
The valuable point in pursue of promotion comes at the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss a week ago at the hands of Real Kings at home where the match was marred by questionable officiating.
Playing under the scorching heat at the Kanyamazane Stadium, the Rockets took the game to their hosts with their enterprising style of play that saw United chasing shadows for the better part of the half.
The first real attempt at goal came from the on-form Khayelihle Shozi in the 10th minute who did well to turn and fire a shot that went narrowly wide of goal.
The Rockets continued their search for the opener, but luck was just not on their side as their brilliant build ups were thwarted by the stubborn United defence in the final third.
Galaxy were almost caught on the break but exceptional defending by Austine Dube denied United their opener at the half hour mark.
Coming back from the break, both sides continued searching for the opening goal in the evenly balanced tie but lack of finishing from both ends saw the tie ending in an evenly balanced 0-0 for both sides to take a point.
The Rockets will now shift focus to their next GladAfrica Championship clash which will be a tricky encounter against JDR Stars at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve on Saturday, 18 January.
Galaxy is currently 10th on the table while JDR occupy the 8th place.
