Rockets encouraged to keep their head up following CAF exit

6 November 2019 – TS Galaxy’s journey in the CAF Confederations Cup came to an unfortunate end this past weekend after being edged 2-1 (4-1 on aggregate) by Nigerian side, Enyimba.

While the Rockets put up a sterling performance in both their home and away matches, coming up against the two-time African champions was a bit of a tall order for the youthful Nedbank Cup champions.

Addressing the squad following their gutsy performance on Sunday, TS Galaxy FC President, Mr. Tim Sukazi said the club would take courage in the performance and the experience gained in the competition would help the team moving forward.

“We take lots of courage from our performance and also take a lot of lessons from this competition. It’s not an easy competition. In a space of four months of playing in this CAF competition, we grew in experience from 0-100 because of the various dynamics that are involved” said Sukazi.

Even after losing both matches, Galaxy were hailed for their impressive performance by both the Nigerian club and their fans, saying that their style of play was quite impressive.

In closing, Mr. Sukazi encouraged the boys to keep their heads up as this experience would complement the team moving forward.

“For a young side such as ours, we take very good lessons from our entire participation and hopefully this is the kind of experience we need in building a very formidable team for the future” he concluded.

Up next for the Rockets is an exciting Glad Africa Championship home fixture on Sunday, 10 November against Royal Eagles at their happy hunting ground of Kameelrivier Stadium at 15h30.

Tickets for this match are officially on sale for as little as R30 for adults and R20 for children.
