A brace from Tshepo Chaine and goals from Sizwe Mdlinzo and Keabetswe Mokwena secured TS Galaxy a 4 – 3 victory over Uthongathi FC in the National First Division (NFD) at Kameelrivier Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Galaxy got on the score sheet first through Chaine in the 13th minute but Uthongathi center – forward Menzi Ndwandwe ensured both teams head to the interval levelled with his 38th minute effort.

Mdlinzo put Galaxy ahead in the 54th minute before Keabetswe Mokwena marked his debut with an absolute screamer of a goal to extend the lead in the 63rd minute.

Ndwandwe was on the score sheet again in the 69th minute completing his brace to make it 3 – 2, with Francis Baloyi who was set up by Celimpilo Ngema levelling matters with a low shot eight minutes later.

The match looked to be heading for a stalemate until Chaine completed his brace in spectacular fashion in the 82nd minute, sealing the victory for the hosts after benefitting from Mdinzo’s exquisite cross.

Following their victory Galaxy finished the first round of their maiden NFD season on the 9th spot on the log standings with 20 points after 15 games.

The Rockets will resume their league campaign after the festive season recess against Richards Bay FC at Kameelrivier Stadium on Sunday 06 January 2019.
