TS Galaxy head coach Dan Malesela views their match against Mbombela United tomorrow afternoon as an opportunity to climb up the National First Division (NFD) log table, and to see if what they have been working on during the FIFA International break comes out in a competitive match.
Currently lying 12th on the log table with 13 points from 11 games, Galaxy will be looking for nothing less than a win in what is expected to be an entertaining battle for bragging rights against their Mpumalanga rivals at KaNyamazane Stadium.
Malesela says it’s important that they collect maximum points when they play against teams that are above them on the log table, as it will be the case against the sixth placed Mbombela, because it will improve their position on the standings.
“In our next five fixtures we are playing teams that are above us in a row so if we can then get points from them it means that we are reducing the gap” Malesela said.
“It’s very important for us to start collecting maximum points as opposed to one point per match, so fortunately like I said there’s this string of matches that is coming where we have all teams that above us and that will help us close the gap between us and them”.
“The fact that it’s a derby makes the match even more interesting. We are hoping to do well because we trained well during the break, I think we are prepared for the match” he added.
While Galaxy are unbeaten in their previous four league outings, all those matches ended in draws, which is why the KwaNdebele club will be gunning for a win.
Apart from the bragging rights that will be at stake against Tingwenyama, the clash holds further significance for Galaxy as it affords them yet another chance to secure their first away victory this season.
The Rockets head into the encounter boasting a clean bill of health and without suspension worries. The match kicks off at 15h30.
