19 October 2018 – After spending more than a month out of action due to injury TS Galaxy defender and captain Mfundo Phungwayo has expressed relief after returning to full training, and hopes to help the club get its National First Division (NFD) campaign back on track.
Phungwayo sustained a hamstring injury, which has seen him miss the club’s previous four fixtures, against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila early last month.
“Obviously it’s exciting to be back after such a long time, it’s actually a good thing to come back now so that I can also help the team. The team has been doing well in my absence, I am happy that I am out of injury and to give my input to the team” says Phungwayo.
Galaxy also received another boost this week following the return of Austin Dube and Zairon Abrahams, who were out of action due to shoulder and ankle injuries respectively, while Keabetswe Mokwena is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
The trio will be available for selection when Galaxy take on Royal Eagles at Chatsworth Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
The Rockets will be gunning for maximum points against Eagles as they look to bounce back from a 1 – 0 loss to Ajax Cape Town before the FIFA international break more than a week ago.
The 24 – years old Mpumalanga – born player anticipates a tough encounter against Eagles, who head into this clash on the back of a 2 – 1 loss to Real Kings in their previous match.
“It’s going to be a hard one they lost we lost so obviously they’ll be determined to win the game. I think it’s going to be a hard game for both teams, and secondly for us it’s going to be an away game which will make it tougher for us, but we will go there and try to get the three points” he says.
Galaxy occupy the 13th spot on the NFD log table with seven points after seven games, while Eagles are a single spot ahead of The Rockets with only one point separating the two teams.
