There has been no time to rest for TS Galaxy since the start of the current FIFA International break, which the club’s head coach Dan “Dance” Malesela has described as an opportunity to rectify mistakes and to fine – tune his side in preparation for the upcoming National First Division (NFD) fixtures.
Galaxy went into the international recess after a narrow 1 – 0 loss at home to Ajax Cape Town on Sunday, a defeat which saw the side drop a single spot from 12 to 13 on the NFD standings with seven points after seven games.
The Rockets have so far played two friendlies against ABC Motsepe League outfit Baberwa FC and BidVest Wits reserve side. While they got their friendly schedule off to a one – all draw against Baberwa on Wednesday, they managed to overcome The Clever Boys 2 – 0 on Thursday.
Malesela will guide his charges against his former club Orlando Pirates in another friendly outing tomorrow.
The 53 years – old mentor says playing lots of friendly games during the recess will help him make his players understand what he expects from them.
“We need to play lots and lots of football you know, to get into the system of these guys to do the right thing and to know what to do when you are on the ball. We need to play lots and lots of football” he says.
The Rockets will return to NFD action with an away clash against Royal Eagles at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday 20 October.
