TS Galaxy head coach Vusi Mkhatshwa says rectifying the mistakes that saw his side settle for a one – all draw against Cape Umoya United last Sunday, will be their main focus as they prepare for their second National First Division (NFD) match against Jomo Cosmos.
The match at Kameelrivier Stadium on Sunday will be another opportunity for Galaxy to secure their maiden NFD win in front of their passionate home crowd. Cosmos though are expected not to make things easy for the hosts as they’ll be looking to turn their fortunes around after a 2 – 1 home defeat at the hands of Ajax Cape Town in their season opener.
Mkhatshwa concedes that he doesn’t know much about Ezenkosi, saying he will largely rely on video analysis to prepare for the encounter.
“We don’t know much about Cosmos but we’ll know more about them, we’ll go through video analysis and see if it can give us something, but we’re looking forward to preparing very well”
“There were some errors against Umoya but I think we’ll rectify them before the Cosmos game, we’ll be better and better as the game comes”
“We have to rectify a little bit of errors at the back and as well in the middle and our transition, and also the reaction from when we clear the ball in our box. We have to react as quick as possible to go out of that box, we didn’t do that against Umoya”.
The Rockets will be without the services of central defender Austin Dube who is nursing an arm injury he sustained after colliding with Umoya goalkeeper Salie Mogamat on Sunday.
Mkhatshwa says they also need to improve how they attack.
“The way we attack, our crosses inside the box we were not sharp, but I think if we can step up a little bit we’ll be better”.
“The way we attack you know our crosses into the box we were not sharp, but I think if we can step up a little bit we’ll be better”.
The Rockets lie ninth on the NFD log table with a single point to their name, while Jomo Sono’s side occupies the 12th spot. The match kicks off at 15h00.
